The Strand along the waterfront in Waiwera Village has seven houses, five originals and two newies. The beachfront  cottage at 14 The Strand Waiwera, known as Cottage 2 is a fifty year old weather board house once the queen of The Strand is sandwiched between two new builts now qualifies as a typical kiwi bach.  It has three bedrooms, is every easy to live in but is in need of some TLC.  Despite this it is an amazing beach front property in true understated kiwi style. The main queen bedroom has unbelievable views east to Sugar Loaf Island in Waiwera Bay, to Whangaparaoa and Tiri Tiri Island and then out on the horizon to Coromandel. The second queen size bedroom faces north and west and the third bedroom has two small single beds.
